Sometimes, being politically correct is just plan asinine. Which is why Donald Trump is so refreshing right now. Well we found something that is insanely PC, but gets squashed in the process in the best way possible.
Friday night high school football is a huge community in the southern U.S. So much so, that entire communities plan their entire weekends around the one particular event. Well someone had to go an ruin the halftime show at Brandon High School in Mississippi. Here’s Hot Air with the story.
the traditional Friday Night football game was missing their halftime show. The school’s marching band had been ordered off the field because their presentation included the hymn How Great Thou Art. That may sound strange, but it was the result of a court order.
In 2013 a student sued the district over a series of Christian meetings that had been held on school property, the newspaper reported. The district later settled the lawsuit and acknowledged they had violated the student’s First Amendment rights
‘Defendants are permanently enjoined from including prayer, religious sermons or activities in any school sponsored event including but not limited to assemblies, graduations, award ceremonies, athletic events and any other school event,’ the order reads.
Which is ludicrous. A marching band playing a hymn is every American’s God given right to hear! Well in lieu of the band being barred from playing this, the crowd responded in kind. Check out what they did to counteract this ridiculous ruling!
