Kellyanne Conway still has the spunk that characterized her during the election. CNN host Dana Bash tried to humiliate Conway during an interview over the weekend, and the Trump aide refused to take it lying down.
At the end of sprawling interview, Bash asked Conway about her husband George. He’s a prominent lawyer that has been overtly critical of the president online.
“What is up with your husband’s tweets?” Bash asked.
Conway flipped out. The rude question instantly fired her up.
“It’s fascinating to me that CNN would go there. But it’s very good for the whole world to just witness that it’s now fair game how people’s spouses and significant others may differ with them. I’m really surprised, but very, in some ways, relieved and gratified to see that,” Conway snarled.
Bash tried to backtrack, insisting that she would have asked a man the same question
“No you wouldn’t,” Conway interrupted.
While Bash searched for words to defend herself, Conway continued the attack.
“You just brought him into this, so this ought to be fun moving forward, Dana,” she said.
“We’re now going to talk about other people’s spouses and significant others just because they either work at the White House or at CNN? Are we now going to do that? Because you just went there. CNN just went there.”
Conway isn’t responsible for her husband’s tweets. She doesn’t have to explain his views. If CNN wants to question his motives, they should ask him to appear on-air.
“Kellyanne, here was my whole point in this, is that you are a professional working for the president of the United States and your husband is a very well-respected lawyer… and my point is that we don’t often see—in fact, I don’t remember the last time we saw—somebody working for the president in a high-profile position when their spouse is saying critical things about them. That is all,” Bash said.
Hillary Clinton wasn’t asked to explain Bill’s behavior- and for good reason.
