“When journalists are attacked, journalists have to resist.”
The words sound like a threat. Smarmy CNN hack Jim Acosta, however, wants you to believe that journalists aren’t part of the anti-Trump resistance movement. It’s a nonsensical argument that didn’t even make it past Twitter before being blasted apart.
Acosta has complained about President Trump’s treatment of the media before.
“We have to stand up to this. We have to confront this and say that it’s wrong,” he said. “My concern is, and I know it’s shared by others, is that this kind of rhetoric, this kind of behavior is going to lead to a journalist being hurt. That’s the thing I worry about.”
Democrats don’t care about violent rhetoric. They’ve been defending Black Lives Matter protesters’ right to incite violence against police officers for years. Journalists aren’t in danger because the president exposed their shoddy work methods.
MSNBC morning host Joe Scarborough previously complained about Acosta after a wild exchange with Trump official Stephen Miller.
“Where things seemed to really meltdown was when Jim Acosta talked, and we’re certainly not putting this on Jim Acosta … You can watch the clip and choose sides,” Scarborough said.
“But when Jim Acosta used the language, ‘it seems like your policies are trying to engineer racial and ethnic percentages’ or something, it sure sounded like something that you would read out of Mein Kampf or something … at that point, it went off the rails.”
You must be saying something crazy if the Morning Joe crew doesn’t approve.
.@Acosta says reporters are not a part of the "resistance," but adds: "When journalists are attacked, journalists have to resist." #PoynterEthicsSummit
