The entire nation seems to be pretty shaken up about the Georgia special election that took place on Tuesday. Oddly though, everyone is talking more about Jon Ossoff losing than they are about Karen Handel winning. It’s odd, because the winner is the one that gets to go do the things that they were both talking a whole lot about during the race, and yet people are more concerned about what the loss meant.
Here’s what the loss seems to mean; first off, everybody was pretty sure that Ossoff would win, and they poured a ton of money into it. That is upsetting for everyone who thought they had it in the bag. Secondly, this is the 4th special election since the November Presidential election, and Republicans have won all 4. I think the idea was that if Democrats could pull at least one off, they’d have some sort of respectability to point to and say “see, not everyone hates us”. But, as it turns out, everyone does.
In the wake of that loss, Democrats everywhere are realizing that things need to change if they don’t want to be stamped out and forgotten like the irrelevant crooks that they truly are. The first thing they want to change is the geriatric leader who’s speaking for the party. Democrat Rick Ungar isn’t alone in saying that Nancy Pelosi needs to head to a new job position, and he voiced that opinion to Breitbart News’ Alex Marlow:
Via Breitbart News:
Democrat Rick Ungar, co-host of “Steele & Ungar” on SiriusXM POTUS 124 spoke with Breitbart News Daily SiriusXM host Alex Marlow on Wednesday in the wake of Democrat Jon Ossoff’s loss to Republican Karen Handel in the race to represent GA-06 in the House.
“Nancy Pelosi was all over this race in Georgia,” said Ungar. “Every TV ad coming from the Republicans was Nancy Pelosi, Nancy Pelosi. I would not have thought her name still carried the weight it did when my partner Michael Steele launched the anti-Nancy Pelosi campaign in 2010. And you know what happened in 2010, the Republicans swept in a wave,” he added.
Said Ungar, “I am of the school, enough already. It’s time for Nancy Pelosi to move on to the next stage of her life. We need somebody else in that position in the House.”
Finally, a Democrat who’s saying what many Republicans have been saying for so long; the old people have got to go. I know that we should have respect for seniority, but having the elderly and infirmed making the laws is going to come with its drawbacks. For one thing, while they could have the purest of intentions at some point the human brain starts to decrease in capability. This isn’t a jab at anyone in particular, that’s just the nature of things.
Also, they can get so set in their ways that they’re not particularly concerned about what the people are actually concerned about. When you’ve got a career politician who’s been on the job for 30+ years, I’m sure they’re vaguely aware that they could be removed from office, but they’ve got so many connections that it’s not just a huge concern for them.
Ungar isn’t the only Democrat who thinks it’s time for new leadership.

I don’t think anyone can say that she didn’t have a good run. Pelosi did a lot for the Democrats and women in politics (I mean, if you think that either one of those things are things worth doing). But there’s something to be said for going out while you’re ahead. For Pelosi, that might have been last week, but we the people will take that letter of resignation any time she want’s to sign it.
