One of the most mysterious elements concerning this explosion of sexual harassment allegations is that philanderer and rapist Bill Clinton is still getting a pass. For decades, the pervert has been plagued with credible accusations of rape and abuse, yet for some magical reason, the left-wing dominated media can’t seem to talk about or acknowledge it.
So much for the whole “listen and believe” “#MeToo” campaigns, in which the Left says we MUST always believe a woman when she accuses someone of a crime. When it comes to leftists, they’ve been allowed to get away with all sorts of things they’re supposedly vehemently against. It’s only been since the Weinstein bombshell that their side has finally been held to account for their crimes, but still not nearly enough for their hypocrisy. However, there’s a smidgen of hope that things might be changing, as one high profile Democrat has dared bring Bill Clinton’s sordid past into the mix.
As reported at the New York Post, in a stunning omission that’s decades too overdue, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, a long-time political lackey of Bill and Hillary Clinton, said that the former president should have resigned after his affair with intern Monica Lewinsky was disclosed.
Asked if Bill needed to step down nearly 20 years ago, Gillibrand told the New York Times: “Yes, I think that is the appropriate response.” Hmmmm, you “think” that would be the appropriate response? That’s interesting, because all it takes is a random accuser to get leftists to call for Republicans’ heads.
Whereas Bill already had been accused of serious sex crimes before he preyed upon the young intern in the Oval Office while he was married–then he lied about it before Congress. If a Republican merrily had a consensual relationship with the same age gap as Bill and Monica’s was at the time, they’d be labeled a predator and abuser of their power to entice young women. But apparently Bill is innocent of such things, despite the open secret of his predatory and abusive behavior.
Gillibrand is the highest profile elected Democrat to make such a statement about the former President. Of course, she parlayed her criticisms of Bill into an attack on Trump, and how we should think about the accusations against him.
“Things have changed today, and I think under those circumstances there should be a very different reaction,” Gillibrand said. “And I think in light of this conversation, we should have a very different conversation about President Trump, and a very different conversation about allegations against him.”
Typical of leftists to admit that something was wrong/that things should have gone another way decades after it matters. Not just for Bill, but Hillary’s political career. It’s highly convenient now, after her two failed presidential bids and hundreds of millions of dollars in the bank later, that the litany of sex crimes Bill’s been accused of should maybe be talked about.
If Bill was held to the same standard as Republicans, his presidency would have been cut short and we likely never would have suffered from Hillary’s catastrophic political career, and what a great thing for American that would have been.
