Recent years have seen our nation’s military become increasingly politicized, as leftists have pushed radical policies onto those tasked with preserving our freedom. Treating the military like a giant social experiment that has little to do with actual fighting has become the primary concern of leftists. What’s more important to them is ensuring that transgender and gay propaganda is beaten into soldiers’ skulls, rather than how to go about preparing, fighting, and winning wars.
Now that gay marriage is legal across the US and the military accepting of them being open about it, we’re now seeing their stories and achievements come to light, as a means to foster acceptance.
As reported at Yahoo, West Point hosted the first-ever gay wedding between active duty personnel in its illustrious and storied history this month. The wedding was between two Army captains that met at the academy, 30-year-old Cpt. Daniel Hall and 26-year-old Cpt. Vincent Franchino, who are both Apache helicopter pilots stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas
The men were married at West Point’s Cadet Chapel on January 13. they first meet in August 2009, when Franchino was a freshman and Hall a senior. They first started dating in early 2012, not long after the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy was repealed by Obama in September 2011.
“It’s really frustrating when two people have feelings for each other but are not allowed to act on them,” Hall said. “We were serving under a policy that was telling all of us — perfectly capable soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines — to lie about ourselves.”
Both men wore their uniforms during the ceremony, and left the chapel under an arch made up of sabers held high by several of their guests. They also used Hall’s officer saber, a graduation gift from his grandparents, to cut the cake.
While this is all well and good, it’s not the men’s relationship that’s troubling, it’s how the Left has gone about pushing propaganda in the military. It’s how they’re forcing policies on the armed forces based upon a fraction of a percent of soldiers, looking for any gay, transgender, or woman soldier they can prop up as some token hero or martyr.
First, it was accepting gays–okay, reasonable and fine. Now it’s accepted transgenders, and then women that couldn’t make the cut based on men’s requirements but need to be there because of optics and “diversity.” And now they just want to go ahead and integrate units, have women on the front lines. One can only imagine what other bright ideas leftists have to make our fighting force “better” and more “progressive.”
The military should be built solely to defend the interests of the United States via fighting. They should be working on how to efficiently kill our enemies and defend the homeland, not treated like rats in some demented left-wing experiment.
