A predictable, yet at the same time, almost unfathomable turn of events has occurred over the last few years. After fighting about gay marriage for decades, we suddenly saw it legalized nationwide, and instead of being satisfied, leftists immediately began moving the goalposts further to the Left.
Now, the guiding cultural issue is the acceptance of transgenderism as normal. You’re a disgusting bigot if you don’t think that such a lifestyle choice is no different than being, as the Left has labeled in a derogatory fashion, a “cis-gendered” person, i.e normal. While people are free to do as they please, it’s the forced acceptance and the complete social and professional destruction folks face for believing that those that identify as such should maybe seek counseling, or that we shouldn’t be promoting it with such vigor.
The issue is highly contentious, and the Trump administration has shown no intentions of bowing to the Left’s tactics of using fear to force cultural acceptance. Instead, the White House has made a defiant announcement proving that Trump stands against the insanity of the transgender movement.
As reported at the Daily Mail, the Department of Education has announced that the Trump administration will not take action if transgender students make complaints about bathroom access.
On Thursday, spokesperson Liz Hill told the reporters that, “yes, that’s what the law says,” when asked if the Education Department’s current position was that restroom complaints coming from transgender students were not covered by Title IX.
The 1972 law doesn’t allow public schools or programs receiving public funds to discriminate, exclude, or deny benefits to an individual “on the basis of sex.” Since there are only two sexes, this makes perfect sense, but the supposedly science-loving Left has created dozens of genders and muddied the distinction between the sexes.
“Title IX prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex, not gender identity,” Hill said.
The Department of Education spokeswoman also said that while transgender bathroom complaints may not be investigated by the federal government, other types of complaints may still be.
“Where students, including transgender students, are penalized or harassed for failing to conform to sex-based stereotypes, that is sex discrimination prohibited by Title IX,” Hill explained as an example. “In the case of bathrooms, however, long-standing regulations provide that separating facilities on the basis of sex is not a form of discrimination prohibited by Title IX.”
Of course, such a decision will no doubt be challenged by the left-wing courts, and likely blocked like many other of Trump’s decisions. Title IX is already a cancerous policy, but to expand its interpretation to cover the transgender issue is beyond absurd on its face, but especially given the technical language of the law. Unless leftists want to specifically destroy the little remaining meaning of the “sex” distinction, there shouldn’t be any way this can be challenged legally.
Unfortunately, we live in a world where up is down and left is right, so it won’t be surprising at all to see this move stymied and celebrated as a victory for the oh so open-minded leftists using the power of the State to force the acceptance of transgender propaganda.
