One of the biggest, if not THE biggest, arguments presented against President-Elect Donald Trump’s victory in this election is that the Electoral College is an evil system that needs to be disbanded that doesn’t represent all Americans.
We’ll get in to our opinion on that in a bit, but the fact is, this is a huge sticking point with the Democrats and liberals when talking about the Trump win.
How could Hillary win the popular vote, only to lose the general election? How can a President be chosen by only a few states? Well, one leftist, known as AdamRuinsEverything from CollegeHumor, attempts to discredit the process and tell us all why it doesn’t work.
However, just as any whiny liberal screeching about the unfairness of a fair election, Adam is heavy on feeling and light on facts, and the best way to debunk how wrong this video is is by responding directly to specific false claims, and that’s exactly what Steven Crowder has done. It’s absolutely perfect and destroys the lefty arguments that the EC is somehow against America.
Hey, liberal idiots, I’m going to spell this out in all caps so you might be able to read this and hear it properly: THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE IS NECESSARY SO THAT THE STATES WITH THE LARGEST AMOUNT OF PEOPLE DON’T CHOOSE EVERY PRESIDENT.
The whole argument of “The Electoral College is terrible” is the same as saying that votes in Wyoming don’t mean anything. You’re completely disregarding that state and those voters. If it was mob mentality, if it was majority rules every single election, New York, California, and a handful of other large cities would call every Presidential election.
The fact is, the electoral college actually PROTECTS the average American’s rights, values, and, essentially, prevents us from living in a party-dictatorship. It actually protect the minority population and those that otherwise would have no voice at all in our elections. Those of you saying the Electoral College is dated and wrong, have absolutely no idea how politics, elections, democracy, or any other part of our system works.
