It’s Official: Donald Trump Had The Most Watched Inauguration In History

There’s a video going around the internet that the liberals are sharing all over the place. It compares the inauguration days of Donald Trump and Barack Obama, namely their turnout. The video shows Obama’s crowds dwarfing those of Trump.

Here’s why it means absolutely nothing.

Of course the Washington DC crowds wouldn’t be out in force for Trump. He’s not a Washington insider and the DC area is a massively liberal community/city. Not to mention the fact that most people who are Republican were probably working like a normal American should be, instead of freeloading during a liberal president’s inauguration. But there’s more to it than meets the eye.

Trump’s ratings were sky high for his inauguration.

Donald Trump’s inauguration ratings were the second-highest in 36 years, according to Nielsen.

The swearing-in of the 45th president was seen by 30.6 million viewers across 12 networks.

The only one to beat him since Ronald Reagan? Barack Obama of course because of the liberal freeloaders. But wait, the numbers are likely even higher and we know exactly why.

Trump’s numbers are all the more remarkable considering he’s entering into office with rather low approval ratings compared to past presidents and sparked protests worldwide along with vows to not watch his inauguration.

And actually, Trump could have been seen by more viewers than either Obama or Reagan. Nielsen ratings do not account for online viewing, which has grown sharply in recent years and is far more commonplace than even four years ago. CNN.com, for example, clocked 16.9 million live streams, tying with its Election Day coverage for the site’s top event (live stream tallies are typically not apples-to-apples with Nielsen’s strict methodology of counting average viewers, but are still additive). Plus, portals like YouTube, Facebook and Twitter offered live streams as well.

We can confirm that we shared the Fox News live stream on our own Facebook page and it had well over 1 million people watching it at the same time at one point in time. Add to that CNN’s figure, without taking in to account other channels, and you’re looking at 47+ million viewers which absolutely CRUSHES Obama, Reagan, and anyone in the last 4-5 decades since Nielsen started their ratings system.

So if you hear that Obama’s inauguration was bigger than Trump’s you can tell them with pride that they are wrong, then show them these statistics. You’ll not only be right, you’ll be able to show them that Trump is truly who America wanted.
