I thought this was a joke. It’s not.
Ted Cruz’s campaign released a new ad in South Carolina, the next state in the primary cycle. It was a good thought as the actors in the commercial meet to go to a “Conservatives Anonymous” support group where they talk about being lied to by Marco Rubio. Of course it’s not a real support group, just posturing by the Cruz campaign.
Well what they didn’t expect to happen was that after they shot the commercial and ran it, they found out that one of the actors in the commercial had a background in the porn industry.
The campaign of 2016 GOP presidential candidate Ted Cruz has pulled an ad off the air after it was reported that one of the actresses is a softcore porn star.
The ad opens with people sitting in a circle at what appears to be a therapy group. They discuss how they have been lied to by Republican presidential candidate Sen. Marco Rubio. The actress, Amy Lindsay, tells one of the people in the group: “Maybe you should vote for more than just a pretty face next time.”
Lindsay has appeared in many softcore porn films, including Erotic Confessions, Carnal Wishes, Secrets of a Chambermaid, and Insatiable Desires.
Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler told Breitbart News that the actress responded to an open casting call.
“The actress responded to an open casting call. She passed her audition and got the job. Unfortunately, she was not vetted by the production company. Had the campaign known of her full filmography, we obviously would not have let her appear in the ad,” Tyler said in an email.
Whoops. That’s a pretty big mistake. My question is, if Cruz and his staff can’t even properly vet an actor in a small campaign commercial, how can they hope to vet millions upon millions of immigrants and refugees coming into the U.S. every year? The answer, they can’t. Trump can.
