Many have said that Kathy Griffin got exactly what she wanted following her tasteless and downright gruesome depiction of beheading President Trump because we’re all talking about her. Unfortunately for her, ordinary citizen justice warriors aren’t the only ones with her name on our minds. It seems that the Secret Service suddenly became very interested in her now infamous photo shoot.
Via Breitbart News:
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the Secret Service has launched an investigation into “the circumstances surrounding the photo shoot.”
On Tuesday, the federal agency took to Twitter and seemingly acknowledged Griffin’s photo, which has been messaged directly at the Secret Service by numerous social media users.
“On it! @SecretService has a robust protective intelligence division that monitors open source reporting & social media to evaluate threats,” the agency tweeted Tuesday afternoon.

“Threats made against @SecretService protectees receive the highest priority of all of our investigations. #ProtectionNeverRests,” the Secret Service tweeted an hour later.

By Tuesday evening, the Secret Service had issued a longer statement — which did not mention Griffin or her horrific photo.
“The U.S. Secret Service has a critical mission. It is always unfortunate when people make statements that could be perceived as threats,” the statement read, according to ABC News. “We don’t have the luxury of knowing a person’s intent. Each alleged or perceived threat has to be investigated thoroughly which taxes Secret Service manpower and resources that could be utilized elsewhere.”
While we’d all really like to know just what’s going to happen to the classless comedian, tipping their hand might be somewhat counter-productive for an agency like the Secret Service.
If I may be so bold as to try and translate their statement, I think what they’re trying to say is; “yes we’re aware of the vulgar picture and we’re glad you all want to help us keep the President safe, however, we don’t feel like the tiny redhead telegraphing this is actually going to follow through. But we’ll keep ya posted. Except that we won’t, because we have jobs to do, and they’re not in PR, so stop trying to tell us how to do them. ”
Obviously, the Secret Service has a little bit of experience in threat assessment, and they were doing it even before the morons could post their intentions online. So let’s take a breath and leave it to the professionals. As they said, they’re “on it!”
