For those of you not in the know about the so-called “gun show loop hole,” it’s been spun by liberals to allow guns to those that shouldn’t have them. The truth, like most everything on the liberal agenda, is far from their convoluted and clueless narrative.
It can be summed up by private gun owners wishing to sell a firearm at a gun show, but not being required to perform a background checks on individuals purchasing firearms from them. Licensed dealers selling guns at the same show are required to do background checks on all purchasers of their guns, however.
This of course allowed private sale weapons to change hands without background checks, but there is an important caveat.
The gun show promoters recognized the problem with this scenario and closed the loop hole in the following manner. The promoters hired independent federally licensed gun dealers to act as back ground check agents. Now private individuals can sell at the gun shows and expos legally by passing their gun sales off to the background agents.
Here it is in action:
For a small fee, the agents will fill out the required federal and state forms and call in the request for a background check on any seller. The potential buyer is either approved or rejected by the federal and/or state agencies.
In the event of a hold or delay in approval of the background check the gun is held in escrow by the agent until approval is received. The gun is then released to the buyer or returned to the seller.
This method is both very effective and legal, putting an end to the liberal talking point once and for all.
