I think enough is enough with the riots, violence, and protests immediately following a cop shooting of a suspected criminal, before any information is actually released about the justification.
Yesterday we got word that Terence Crutcher, a black man, was shot by police and pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later. As always when this happens, the vocal and violent, BLM supporting minority took to the street to make things worse by looting and rioting and causing harm. Of course, he was not shot with his hands up and was disobeying a direct police command. When you do that, you get shot.
It’s not difficult to follow direction. Yet, apart from this clear fact that is proven by the video, everyone says his hands were up and that this is another case of a cop mindless killing a black man.
They’re wrong, we know it, and so does Sheriff Clarke.
Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke said this morning that anarchists are using poor African-Americans in order to start riots against police officers.
Riots broke out in Charlotte, North Carolina, last night over the police shooting of a black man. At least 16 officers suffered minor injuries following the fatal shooting of 43-year-old Keith Lamont Scott.
The police chief said officers warned Scott repeatedly to drop a handgun before he was shot by a black officer.
Witnesses, however, disputed that account, saying Scott is disabled and was not armed.
Clarke said riot-starters are using these incidents for political gain, inciting ill-informed people before the facts of a case are known. He said he’s been making this point since the 2014 riots in Ferguson, Missouri.
“I know these people. I know what they’re up to. I know their model. The anarchists are exploiting these poor people in these urban ghettos to be the riot-starters,” said Clarke, adding that these same tactics were used in the 1960s in Detroit, Newark, N.J., Los Angeles and Milwaukee.
So where do we go from here? We need police and all law enforcement to take a hard nosed approach to this. If we continue this soft, pussy-footing approach to rioters and just let them go, it’s only going to continue. We need an actionable response or else nothing will get done to stop these fire-starters.
It needs to end and it needs to end now. Black businesses can’t take much more of this. They are destroying themselves from within all in the name of “justice.” This isn’t justice, it’s anarchy.
