President Trump’s personal attorney wants Stormy Daniels to retract some of the claims she made during her 60 Minutes interview.
The adult entertainer told host Anderson Cooper that a man had threatened her and her young daughter in an attempt to get her to keep her mouth shut about her alleged affair with the president.
“A guy walked up on me and said to me, ‘Leave Trump alone. Forget the story.’ And then he leaned around and looked at my daughter and said, ‘That’s a beautiful little girl. It’d be a shame if something happened to her mom.’ And then he was gone,” Daniels said.
Trump’s lawyer tore into Daniels because of the statement, arguing that she had cruelly abused Trump’s team.
“In truth, Mr. Cohen had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with any such person or incident, and does not even believe that any such person exists, or that such incident ever occurred,” the lawyer complained.
“You and your client’s false statements about Mr. Cohen accuse him of criminal conduct and constitute, among other claims, libel per se and intentional infliction of emotional distress.”
Michael Cohen is the attorney who paid Daniels $130,000 to keep quiet about the alleged affair. She never said that Cohen was the one who threatened her.
The attempt to quiet her obviously didn’t work. The nondisclosure agreement she signed when she received the money has been violated. She and her lawyer are fighting to prove that the agreement was never valid in the first place because Trump never signed it.
“I was perfectly fine saying nothing at all, but I’m not okay with being made out to be a liar, or people thinking that I did this for money and people are like, ‘Oh, you’re an opportunist. You’re taking advantage of this,’” Daniels said during the interview.
“Yes, I’m getting more job offers now, but tell me one person who would turn down a job offer making more than they’ve been making, doing the same thing that they’ve always done?”
She won’t admit that her motivation to come forward with her story was financial.
