Newt Gingrich has had his name in the Trump VP camp for all of a few days, but it sure seems like he’s gunning for the job.
And why not right? I mean to be the right hand man to history sounds like a pretty good gig. Not to mention that Trump might be the greatest president in the modern era. We don’t know that for sure, but to say that he won’t be is just as foolish.
Newt knows this and he’s taking his calculated risk at gunning for the position. We think it’s a great idea.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, whose name has been bandied about as a possible running mate for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, said Wednesday night that he would consider running for vice president on the GOP ticket with Trump.
“I would certainly talk about it,” Gingrich told Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity. “I wouldn’t turn it down automatically.”
He later remarked, “I’m in the ‘not no‘ column.”
Gingrich, who has spoken up in support of Trump during the Republican presidential primary process, has been pointed to as a possible vice president in the wake of Trump’s comments last week that he wanted someone with political experience who could deal with Congress.
On Tuesday, Newsmax reported Gingrich was at the top of Trump’s list. According to the report, Gingrich’s appeal to Trump stemmed from the former speaker’s Washington experience and the positive relationship between the two men.
“Trump has other reasons he is leaning toward Gingrich. He is said to personally like him,” Newsmax reported.
We like him too. This could be a great pair, but what do you think? Let’s hear it in the comments!
