The Stormy Daniels quagmire just got deeper. Megyn Kelly jumped into the scandal over the weekend by reminding everyone that she too has been threatened by Team Trump.
During her explosive interview with 60 minutes, Daniels claims that she and her daughter were physically intimidated by a Trump cronie.
“A guy walked up on me and said to me, ‘Leave Trump alone. Forget the story.’ And then he leaned around and looked at my daughter and said, ‘That’s a beautiful little girl. It’d be a shame if something happened to her mom.’ And then he was gone,” Daniels recalled.
The Trump administration vehemently denies Daniels’ allegation.
Kelly, however, seems to agree. After the interview aired she tweeted: “And let’s not forget this, from #coreylewandowski — who threatened me if I dared to show up at the 2d Fox News debate. Sound familiar?”
Kelly and Donald Trump quarreled before he was elected president. She claims the future world leader was so terrified of facing her that he tried to get her kicked off Fox News’ debate team.
“Lewandowski threatened me, saying I’d had a ‘rough couple of days after the last debate,’ and he ‘would hate to have [me] go through that again,’” Kelly wrote in 2016 book. “The tone was unmistakable.”
Trump supporters are unlikely to be swayed by Kelly. She’s become significantly less popular since she left Fox News. Daniels also suffers from credibility problems. She’s changed her story multiple times.
It’s hard to believe that Trump resorted to physical threats. Liberals have made up a bunch of lies about him but no one’s accused him of being personally aggressive. He’s fierce in the courtroom and will go after a lawsuit with a vengeance but he’s never descended to real violence.
Both women have their own reasons for smearing Trump.
