The Lord may work in mysterious ways, but these seven movies definitely hit the mark. Here’s our list of seven epic movies that every Christian needs to see. You can click on each movie to view them online or order a DVD or Blu-Ray of your own. I strongly suggest watching all of them with family – and some good popcorn, of course.
7. Fireproof
When die-hard believer and star Kirk Cameron headlines in a movie, you can bet it’s gonna be good. A tale about staying faithful through troubling times, both in life and in marriage, Fireproof is one that no Christian family should go without.

6. God’s Not Dead
This movie spoke to me, as it’s about an aggressive Atheist professor that simply doesn’t want to understand the truth of God’s Word. Kevin Sorbo stars in this cerebral drama about the reality of being a believer in liberal academia. I’d recommend this movie to teens, so they know exactly what to say when faced with aggressive non-believers in the future.

5. Courageous
This story is of four Christian fathers who happen to be full-time police officers. Not only does this give people a very real insight into what it means to be a man, but what fatherhood is to the entire family. It’s directed by Alex Kendrick, who did a few others on this list because he’s just that good at making movies with faith as the main focus. Watching this movie can definitely be a family tradition.

4. The Prince Of Egypt
Just because a movie is animated and meant for a younger crowd doesn’t mean that it can’t have a message that’s just as valid for people of all ages. This is one of my favorite movies ever, not only for the massive scale and wonderful storytelling, but for the fact that they described the Biblical story accurately without changing key elements to suit Hollywood’s usual liberal agenda. It’s a great choice for anyone wanting to run the gamut of emotion with a strong backbone of faith. I can’t recommend it enough.

3. Noah
While liberal reviewers blasted this movie for being too based on the religious texts, I enjoyed it thoroughly because it told the story of Noah and his family through the lens of a big-budget blockbuster film, with an all-star cast. It’s a great illustration of God’s judgment and why we should both understand the Old Testament and believe in its powerful message

2. The Passion Of The Christ
I don’t think I’ve ever cried as much at a movie than when I saw this in theaters. While this movie may not be for small children due to the level of violence, it’s a very important film to illustrate Jesus’ sacrifice for humanity and it chronicles his last day on Earth before he’s crucified. It’s extraordinarily well acted, directed, and shot. It’s a movie that you can watch only if you have some Kleenex around, because it’s a tear jerker with a generous helping of faith. As far as movies go, it’s hard to beat.

1. The Ten Commandments
Not only is this movie an absolute epic in the sheer scale of its sets and cast, but the story is one of the most powerful in the Holy Bible. Charlton Heston plays Moses, in the performance of a lifetime, with a strong script and the ability to deliver the most powerful gift God had to offer – the two stone tablets with His holy word. This movie, although produced in 1956, is just as relevant today as it was nearly 60 year ago. It’s a must-watch for any believer.
