When Punks Desecrated The Flag And Disrespected America, This Cowboy Knocked ‘Em Out Cold

December 14, 2024 by Savannah Pointer

Sadly, for many Americans, the way of life that we hold dear is less about preserving a nation of freedom for future generations, and more about selfishness. “My rights”,” my money” and “what I deserve” have become the mantra of our generation.

There seems to be little regard for the sacrifice of those from our past or providing for those who will come after. The American Dream has been re-vamped and re-packaged by many as an instant gratification free for all. Eat drink and be merry, because it’s all about you, right?

The normally light-hearted Chad Prather has a few things to say about that, about the people who become so self-absorbed that they can’t give credit to whom credit is due. They are too self-absorbed to see where their freedoms came from. I guess that’s what happens when you’re too busy thinking up ways to make your privileged self happy.

Yes, you do have the right to stomp on or burn the American flag, just like you have the right to try and slap your mother. You might succeed, but you also might receive swift and just retribution from someone around you that loves her, and you’ll most certainly regret it at some point when you look back and wish for the privileges that you wasted doing it.

These ungrateful punks who think burning a flag is a demonstration of freedom don’t realize that all they are demonstrating is their own lack of knowledge and foresight. They’re worried about the here and now, the emotions they are experiencing on that day.

For the record, the saying goes:

“Eat drink and be merry, for tomorrow you die.”
