The controversial Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion in the first trimester of pregnancy was decided in 1973 by the U.S. Supreme Court. Since then, an estimated 58 million abortions have been carried out in this country, most of which have been performed by Planned Parenthood.
Planned Parenthood has fiercely stood by their claims that, even thought scientist estimate that a heart starts beating at around three weeks, and even though many states require a death certificate for a stillborn baby, what they are ripping apart is really just a clump of cells.
Fox News‘ Tucker Carlson took the opportunity to ask Planned Parenthood’s Executive Vice President about what she thought was being extracted during an abortion. Her response was as infuriating as it was vague.
As you watch, it’s worth noting how many times she claims that whether or not the baby is really alive is “up to the women to decide.” Does that mean it’s up to me to decide if she is really alive?
If I’m being completely honest, if someone handed me a gun or an injection needle and said “here, you get to decide if this woman is human with no legal repercussions” I might be tempted to make the wrong choice.
I could justify it by saying that what she has done, facilitating the killing of millions should make her un-human. I could get philosophical and say that no one with a heart or soul could possibly do what she’s doing, that she is a detriment to society. But all of those things would be justification for taking a life, which is exactly what Planned Parenthood encourages every day.
Don’t have a baby if you can’t work to make their lives perfect. Don’t bring a child into the world if it will ruin your life. Don’t have a baby with someone who’s not your perfect partner. All are excuses to end a life that would be an inconvenience to you.
There are four scientific difference between you and an unborn child: Size, level of development, environment, and degree of dependency. If you think about it, I bet you can imagine a time when each of those has applied to you in your adult life. I bet you didn’t want someone coming along and taking your life for it.
Ronald Reagan famously said:
“I’ve noticed that everyone who is for abortion has already been born.”
Such is the case with you and I and all of the people who run Planned Parenthood. Let’s give our unborn the right to life as well.
