President Trump is going to meet with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un within two months. The stunning development was announced Thursday.
Trump’s aggressive peace tactics panned out. He rejected the wishy-washy diplomacy of the Obama administration in favor of a tougher approach and it worked. The upcoming meeting will be historic, no U.S. president has ever met with a North Korean leader.
“He (Kim) expressed his eagerness to meet President Trump as soon as possible,” South Korean National Security Director Chung Eui-yong told reporters outside of the West Win.
“President Trump appreciated the briefing and said he would meet Kim Jong-Un by May to achieve permanent denuclearization.”
Kim also agreed to temporarily suspend North Korea’s nuclear program.
“Kim Jong Un talked about denuclearization with the South Korean Representatives, not just a freeze,” President Trump tweeted Thursday.
“Also, no missile testing by North Korea during this period of time. Great progress being made but sanctions will remain until an agreement is reached. Meeting being planned!”
President Trump’s second year is getting off to an even more explosive start than his first. Finally there’s a piece of real news for media pundits to latch onto. Who can deny that Trump has been an effective president now? ISIS has been destroyed. U.S.-Russia relations are softening. And now a groundbreaking peace is being brokered under his watch.
“Possible progress being made in talks with North Korea. For the first time in many years, a serious effort is being made by all parties concerned,” Trump tweeted Wednesday.
“The World is watching and waiting! May be false hope, but the U.S. is ready to go hard in either direction!”
Perhaps liberals will start respecting the president now. The “crazy” man in the White House is accomplishing feats that his immediate predecessor, Barack Obama, never could.
