Stormy Daniels still wants to tell her story. The porn star who allegedly had a sexual relationship with President Trump is hitting the media circuit. She sat down for a “60 Minutes” interview with Anderson Cooper.
The smiling due, along with Daniels’ lawyer Michael Avenatti, tweeted a picture of themselves on set Thursday.
60 Minutes investigators aren’t the only ones poring over Daniels’ story right now. Respectable journalists are hunting after mundane details of an affair that supposedly happened over a decade ago.
Trump’s private lawyer, Michael Cohen, paid Daniels $160,000 in 2016 after she signed a nondisclosure agreement. He admitted to the payment but declined to say what it was for.
Avenatti argues that the NDA is now “null and void” because Cohen mentioned the deal publicly.
“I can share you that the arbitration was won in the president’s favor and I would refer you to the president’s outside counsel on any details beyond that,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said this week.
Daniels’ has remained quiet as the scandal unfolded around her, but her lawyer has been quite vocal on her behalf.
“First of all, it does not appear as if he was even a party to the arbitration Ms. Sanders was referring to. How can you win something you’re not even a part of?… Secondly, claiming that Mr. Trump ‘won’ at arbitration when there has been no hearing, no notice… no opportunity given to her to respond, and no decision on the merits, is completely bogus,” Avenatti told NBC.
He also admitted that his client had a sexual relationship with Trump, answering “yes” when a reporter asked him directly.
Trump supporters are unfazed. They’re not really interested in the store. The Daniels scandal is an annoyance, but President Trump will survive. He’s not going to be taken down by a rumor of a past dalliance.
