During the height of the presidential campaign last year, a fantastical dossier filled with outlandish claims about Trump was handed over to the Clinton campaign and the various media entities.
This report was supposedly filled with “intelligence” about Trump, all his deep, dark secrets. While it was handed around to everyone, nobody was dumb enough to publish it, because it was obviously a fabrication. Of course, they all were hoping one organization would be dumb enough to, so they could then talk about it non-stop and not-so-subtly imply that its contents were true, thus still deceiving the public–which is what happened.
The liberal rag Buzzfeed eventually published the dossier, despite having no evidence or credible proof backing any of the claims it contained. The most infamous being that Trump engaged in a ‘golden shower’ routine with prostitutes in Moscow. The origins of the dossier have always been speculated about, but now we have proof that it was funded by none other than Hillary Clinton and the DNC.
As reported at the Daily Mail, Clinton’s campaign lawyer Marc Elias hired research firm Fusion GPS back in April 2016 to look into allegations of Trump’s ties to Russia, according to the Washington Post.
Fusion GPS then hire a former British intelligence officer named Christopher Steele to dig up some dirt on Trump. What he returned with was an obvious work of fiction that was funded until just days before the general election. Thanks to the fabricated report, Democrats jumped on their high horses and demanded investigations into Trump’s Russian relations, and they ultimately succeeded.
On Saturday, Trump tweeted that the FBI and Justice Department should “immediately release who paid for it” after Fusion GPS co-founder Peter Fritsch and partner Thomas Catan last week invoked the Fifth Amendment, as not to incriminate themselves. They may not be talking, but the money trail on this hit-job has been found.
The two men were appearing before the House Intelligence Committee after being subpoenaed concerning who funded the dossier, but they refused to answer any questions.
Last week, Trump took to Twitter, where he speculated that it was Russia or the Democrats responsible for funding the hit-job.
“Workers of the firm involved with the discredited and Fake Dossier take the 5th. Who paid for it, Russia, the FBI or the Dems (or all)?” Trump said last Thursday. Apparently channeling Nostradamus, Trump was proven right this week when new details emerged about the dossier’s origins.
How the two men, Clinton, and the DNC will react now that the truth is out is anybody’s guess. They’ve kept their mouths shut thus far, but hopefully these new revelations will having them singing like canaries.
