For some reason, people watch enough of the cancerous reality show “Celebrity Big Brother” to justify its continued existence. The latest season has been making quite a few headlines this time around, and most of it’s due to one of the “celebs” on the show attacking Trump at every turn.
As reported at the Daily Mail, former White House aide Omarosa Manigault-Newman has compared leaving the Trump administration to being “freed off of a plantation.”
Saturday’s episode saw Manigault-Newman discuss the end of her tenure at the Office of Public Liaison’s director of communications.
“I’m emancipated. I feel like I just got freed off a plantation. Hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus,”
Fellow Z-list celeb and house-guest, actress Shannon Elizabeth, asked the former reality star why she left in January.
“I was literally the only African American woman in the senior staff,” she said.
“I’m going to meetings with people who are ignoring me, or because I was black, people wouldn’t even talk to me. And it wasn’t just the black thing – it was the woman thing.” Imagine for a second the outrage that would ensue if a white person said they quit a job because they were the only white person in an office.
The former aide said that she was “so loyal to the point where people are looking at me like something is wrong” before leaving the White House.
Manigault-Newman hinted at the possibility of writing a “tell-all” book about her days in the Trump White House.
“[Trump is] going to come after me with everything he has. Like, I’m going up against a kazillionaire,” Manigault Newman said about pushback she’d get if she wrote a book, which is her way of setting bait for publishers to come calling.
“So I’ll probably end up in court for the next…but I have to tell my truth. I’m tired of being muted. All the stuff that I just put on a shelf somewhere out of loyalty. I’ve been defending somebody for so long, and I’m now I’m like: “Yo, you are a special kind of f****d up, and that special breed, they’re about to learn all about it”,”she continued.
Manigault-Newman also mentioned that the White House has a person designated as the Twitter and Facebook rep, but claimed that the post was meaningless due to Trump’s brash way of tweeting whatever he likes whenever he likes.
“He’s up in his underwear or something at four in the morning. Who’s gonna monitor that? The bad tweets happen between four and six in the morning,’ she said. ‘Ain’t nobody up there but Melania (Trump). She walks around like this, ‘He can do whatever he wants.’ She ain’t saying nothing.“
It seems like all of Manigault-Newman’s bluster on the show is designed to gin up interest in a potential book or revealing interview. Anti-Trump anything sells, and it will especially elicit a high price if they can tack on that she was part of the White House staff. But it’s likely she doesn’t have anything interesting to say, or she would have already landed a book deal instead of languishing on a garbage reality show.
