You’re still paying for Obama’s extravagance.
Let that sink in for a moment. Taxpayers are footing the bill for the former president’s lavish lifestyle. Congress provides for all commanders in chief when they leave office, but Obama is requesting the most money by far. He wants a whopping $1.1 million to cover 2018.
That money is on top of the exorbitant fee he earns for each speaking engagement. Liberals wasted no time accusing President Trump of leveraging his position at the White House to enrich his family. Yet Obama’s money-grubbing ways are treated as a matter of course.
Fox News reports:
“The Former Presidents Act, which became law in 1958, provides former White House occupants with lifetime benefits after leaving office. Each ex-president receives a base pension of $205,700 annually, but the budget requests they submit to Congress may also address additional expenses, such as for staff salaries, office allowances, travel and Secret Service protection.”
No one requested as much money as Obama. He wants $536,000 just for office space. When will America be freed from Obama’s greed? The funds intended for his plush Washington D.C. offices could have been used to lift multiple families out of poverty. Dozens of students could have been sent to college.
Of course, Obama’s free-wheeling attitude towards government funds has been long documented. The national debt skyrocketed during his eight-year tenure. If you got a kick out of financing the Obama’s, you’re in luck. It looks like the family will be feeding off the government for a long time.
