A ridiculous left-wing meme has been floating around the media since before Trump won the 2016 presidential election. That is, that Trump is not mentally fit to serve as president, that he’s got some screws loose or something.
The Left bases this largely on Trump’s tweeting, as well as his brash and unfiltered comments. When it comes to leftists, they see it as a sign he’s not all there. They’ve gone so far as to solicit the opinions of “mental health experts” to psycho-analyze and add credibility to their armchair diagnoses. Lately, the media’s hand-wringing over the president’s “stability” has become even more extreme thanks to a new “insider” book that makes all sorts of wild claims about Trump. However, not everyone is so eager to jump on this ridiculous bandwagon of pearl-clutching.
As reported at the New York Post, US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley fired back at Trump’s critics on Sunday in light of the new book, which claims White House staffers worry about President Trump’s intellect and fitness for office. Haley said she’s never heard anyone question him in such a way.
“I know those people in the White House,” Haley said on ABC’s “This Week.” “These people love their country and respect our president. … No one questions the [mental] stability of the president.”
Haley said that White House advisors and staffers fully trust and respect the president, pointing out “if they didn’t, they wouldn’t be there.”
She also said that she’s never seen any evidence that Trump isn’t mentally fit for his job as president.
“I work with the president and speak with him multiple times a week,” she said. “He didn’t become the president by accident, and as much as everyone wants to talk about stability: Was he unstable when he passed the tax reform? Was he unstable when we finally hit back at Syria and said, ‘no more chemical weapons’? Was he unstable when we finally put North Korea on notice?”
The media’s latest source for propaganda is a book by Michael Wolff titled: “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House.” They’ve used its contents, and Trump’s recent tweets at North Korean tyrant Kim Jong-Un, as evidence he’s losing it upstairs.
But Haley shot back, saying that his tweets are just one of the ways he keeps “Kim on his toes.”
She said it’s important the regime knows “we’re not letting up on the pressure. We’re not going to let them go and dramatize the fact that they have a button right on their desk and they can destroy America. We want to always remind them we can destroy you too, so be very cautious and careful with your words and what you do.”
Don’t expect this line of attack to go anywhere while Trump is president. Slandering folks, attacking their character and abilities, this is all part of the leftist playbook. It’s how they slowly degrade a person in the eyes of the public.
The clowns in the media can talk all the trash they want, because at the end of the day, crazy or not, Trump’s been passing major pieces legislation and making headway on his ambitious agenda. If that makes him “crazy,” then so be it.
