In the current year, any negative thing that occurs to a person of color is automatically the fault of the evil white man. The race-obsessed Left has made a disgusting habit of accusing everyone and everything of racism whenever it’s convenient, giving no thought how destructive such accusations can be to people’s lives and the public’s perception of the accused institutions.
There’s no shortage of examples of the Left’s racism wolf-crying, but their latest attempt to inflame racial tensions centers around an upcoming NASA space expedition, which was to feature a black female astronaut, which would have made her the first to take up residence on the International Space Station. However, NASA suddenly pulled her from the mission and has given no explanation. Predictably, this has been met with charges of racism from leftists across the nation.
As reported at the Daily Mail, in response to Dr. Jeanette Epps’ bumping from NASA’s June mission, her brother took to social media to levy charges of misogyny and racism at the world’s most advanced space agency.
“My sister Dr. Jeannette Epps has been fighting against oppressive racism and misogynist in NASA and now they are holding her back and allowing a Caucasian Astronaut to take her place!” Henry Epps said in a Facebook post.
The post, which the clownish brother has since deleted, included a link to a ridiculous MoveOn.org petition that calls for his sister’s reinstatement to the mission.
The petition’s specific title is: “Demand NASA to return Dr. Jeanette Epps Back To ISS Mission !!!” and as of Monday, it has 1,222 of the 2,000 signatures needed. While Henry didn’t create it, he and his family members have signed it.
While Epps won’t be heading to space this time around, NASA has said she may still be selected for future missions, and in the meantime, she’ll be in Houston working at the Johnson Space Center.
While it’s rare for NASA to bump someone from a mission this late in the game, it hardly means that it was because of her skin color or sex, as crackpot leftists are alleging.
Brandi Dean, a NASA spokesperson, has said several factors were considered, but she didn’t elaborate further.
“These decisions are personnel matters for which NASA doesn’t provide information,” Dean told collectSPACE.com. The thing is, if anything, she might have been bumped sooner if not for her skin color. The folks at NASA know full well how some people would interpret their move, which means that it was definitely made after a lot of careful thought. They wouldn’t risk all the negative publicity over a trivial thing.
Rather than slander the agency as racist, maybe race-baiters should understand that NASA’s number one priority is keeping the astronauts safe and ensuring that all the necessary members of a team fit together perfectly.
While it’s certainly disappointing for Epps, she may still have other opportunities in the future. There’s absolutely no reason to suspect that our nation’s space agency removed a person from a mission due to petty racism. The accusation is absurd, especially in the day and age we live in, where diversity is all the rage and what everyone is going for.
