The NFL kneel-down protest is still dominating headlines, as every time there’s a game, the media and fans are inventively watching to see what’s going to happen. Some of the participating teams and players are finding out that the fans funding their oversized salaries aren’t as keen to support their cause as they thought. So they’re either abandoning their pregame shenanigans altogether, or trying to be a little more subtle about it.
As reported at the Daily Mail, during the national anthem at the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears game Thursday night, every player on both teams was standing. However, rather than focusing solely on football, they signaled their continued support for the protest by linking arms. It appears they think changing the literal, physical way they protest will trick us into being okay with it. As if it matters how they’re doing it, they’re still blatantly doing it.
They asked fans to join in on what they described as their “display of unity” and ‘call to connect.” They just don’t get it. They’re asking fans to support a cause against our president and police. Their actions have divided fans by putting them in the position where their very viewership is tacitly supporting their cause. So to ask them to “link arms in unity” is really asking fans to take their side on the issue.
During the anthem, the crowd was visibly divided, with many flying American flags and with hands over heart, while others linked arms as they were instructed.
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers tiptoed around the issue ahead of the game, after it was announced the team would link arms instead of kneel. “This is not a protest. This is a unified demonstration of love and solidarity. This is about unity and love and growing together as a society and starting a conversation around something that may be a little bit uncomfortable for people.”
Sure, sure, that’s exactly what it is. Love and solidarity, don’t make me laugh. These clowns talk about solidarity, yet are constantly discriminating and hating on conservatives, treating them like they’re trash and have no place in modern society. Yet they want us to link arms and sing kumbaya like everything’s fine.
Thanks to groups like Black Lives Matter and the general radicalism of the Left, there are no longer any spaces left in society that isn’t politicized. Now they’ve taken over football and are using it as a platform to criticize our president and police force. It’s disgusting and shameless to see how low they’ll stoop to push their cancerous ideology on the masses.
