Do the Republicans hate each other? They just passed a groundbreaking tax reform bill, and they’re already sniping at each other. Sen. Lindsey Graham complained about Mitch McConnell’s crappy leadership to Breitbart this week.
The tax reform bill is only the first step. Americans are still saddled with most of the pitfalls of Obamacare. McConnell betrayed his constituents by giving up on the appeal effort months ago, muttering: “We’ll probably move on to other issues.”
Graham’s so disgusted by McConnell’s weak behavior that he called it an “unpardonable sin.”
“Repealing the individual mandate takes away one of the pillars, but by no means does it repeal and replace Obamacare… Graham told Breitbart News. My goal for 2018 is to block grant the money for Obamacare back to the states and putting money in the hands of elected officials and not Washington bureaucrats,” Graham told Breitbart.
“I am more committed than ever to replacing Obamacare. I think it would be a huge mistake for a Republican to believe that we’re done with Obamacare. It is still the law of the land, it is still crumbling, driving up costs for hard-working America. It’s still the path to single-payer healthcare unless it’s replaced.”
Graham championed the health care repeal bill that nearly passed the Senate earlier this year. The measure failed because Republicans refused to cooperate.
“We got two no votes in the Senate based on process,” Graham said.
“Now we can go through the regular order similar to what we did with taxes. I think we will take up two votes… Obamacare doesn’t get better over time, it gets worse. ”
