Ever since January, we’ve been wondering if Trump’s promise to erradicate illegal immigration would come true. Looks like we have our answer.
According to deputies in Hidalgo County, TX, the number of people crossing the border illegally has steadily decreased since January. Hidalgo County Precinct 3 deputy constable Joel Contreras patrols the border, in addition to his other duties, and gave news crews a peek into what it’s like to work overtime on the border.
During the trip, Conteras found a mother and daughter from Honduras and a Chinese national who had been detained trying to cross into the U.S. by another officer.
Via KRGV:
It isn’t unusual to find Chinese nationals crossing with Central Americans. He said many of them don’t stay in the Rio Grande Valley, let alone Texas. “Mostly the southern states and a lot of them (go to) California,” [Contreras] said. The area is commonly used for human trafficking. He added the area is not what it used to be. Deputies noticed a decrease in people crossing towards the end of January. He said the drop in numbers won’t take their boots off the ground.
Many people have speculated, or failed to even offered concrete proof that people other than Mexican nationals were crossing our southern border. Up until now, the press has acted like it was a slow migration up from Central and South American countries. However, the statistics are pointing more and more to the Mexico/America border being used as a backdoor thrown open to anyone in the world that wishes to enter.
You may know the story of the famous “Come and Take it” flag (bumper sticker/t-shirt/ball cap/anything a Texan can wear or drive) that originated with Texans defying the Mexicans to come reclaim a canon of which both sides claimed ownership. The slogan was meant to convey “if you can come and take it, then you can have it back.”
In a sense, our entire nation is teetering on the edge of that slogan all the time. The double-edged sword of democracy brings with it not only the ability to safeguard our rights and freedoms, but the constant danger that all it takes to revoke those rights is a slim majority. That majority is growing and swelling from within the generations of basically law abiding citizens and amending our national statutes is the reason certain contingencies were put into our constitution.
However, the manipulation of the voting population by democratic politicians who believe they can use an infusion illegals to push through their own self-serving legislation and policies is nothing short of an underhanded. In the long run, it’s an unsustainable model of government and exactly why the Democrats have little to no power left.
