Don’t worry Laura Ingraham fans. She’s not going anywhere.
Fox News came out in support of their battered host. Advertisers, beholden to the capricious whims of their liberal customers, are dropping Ingraham’s show. She called Parkland teen David Hogg whiney, he didn’t like it, cue temper tantrum.
“We cannot and will not allow voices to be censored by agenda-driven intimidation efforts,” Fox News Co-President Jack Abernethy said.
“We look forward to having Laura Ingraham back hosting her program next Monday when she returns from spring vacation with her children.”
Ingraham has already apologized for the thoughtless comment. “On reflection, in the spirit of Holy Week, I apologize for any upset or hurt my tweet caused him or any of the brave victims of Parkland,” she tweeted Thursday.
Hogg rejected her apology. So did the advertisers.
“That’s what she does when she tries to apologize to me, she promotes her own show? Really?” Hogg snarked. “I’m a 17-year-old kid, she’s bullied people before and I think people are just sick and tired of it… She needs to acknowledge what she has done wrong.”
Hogg is pretty full of himself but who can blame him? A few months ago he was a regular kid. Now mainstream media outlets are treating him like the next messiah. He’s a public figure who gets to spout whatever offensive tripe he wants and no one can say anything about it because he’s a “survivor.”
Hogg spent his first month of fame saying that he was going to wield the attention he was receiving to fight for gun safety. He’s already branched out in month two. Now he’s telling people to boycott things and people he doesn’t like.
“I 100 percent agree an apology in an effort just to save your advertisers is not enough. I will only accept your apology only if you denounce the way your network has treated my friends and I in this fight,” Hogg wrote.
“It’s time to love thy neighbor, not mudsling at children.”
