Bloody shootouts, illicit drug deals, human beings traded and sold like pieces of furniture. America’s southern border is rife with violence and human rights abuses. Liberals ridiculed President Trump, accusing him of a having a twisted, myopic view of illegal immigration. People who understand the nuances of protecting our country, however, disagree.
America’s first female Border Patrol chief, Carla Provost, recently praised the Trump administration’s handling of the border. Her officers feel as though they can finally do their job. Obama, friend of the illegals, crippled Border Patrol while he was in office.
Provost explained that “the men and women out there really just want to enforce those laws that they have been trained to enforce, that’ve been – and I think they feel empowered to do their jobs now.”
Liberals have been trying to tar Trump’s reputation for years. They call him sexist, yet he’s surrounded by strong, powerful women.
“From the Border Patrol perspective right now, having that support and having the ability to go out and do the job that they were hired for is certainly bringing up their morale,” Provost said.
“We’re all Border Patrol agents, and that was something I’ve always, I guess, aspired to throughout my career… The key in the Border Patrol is if you go out, you do a good job, [and] then you’re recognized for it, whether you’re male or female.”
Border Patrol agents are fighting on the frontline of our war against illegal immigration. The men and women working to keep our country safe deserve our admiration. Obama’s attempt to weaken the agency was shameful.
“I was drawn to law enforcement, I think, in probably my teen years…It’s the wanting to serve, wanting to do something that’s great for the country. I was just raised that way. And the excitement that comes from knowing that you’re doing something to help protect the country,” Provost said.
