Political grandstanding and concern-trolling comes as easy as breathing for the Left these days. With Trump, who’s “literally” Hitler in many other their eyes, in office, it’s given politicians, celebrities, and common folks ample opportunity to let everyone around them know just how outraged and morally superior they are than the rest of us.
They signal with Twitter hashtags and Facebook posts, trashing the president and conservatives at every turn for our supposed backward beliefs while acting like saints themselves. While their latest grandstanding idea isn’t an issue folks should be divided on, it’s the not-so-subtle jab aimed at the president that is.
As reported at the New York Post, women in the Democratic Party are thinking about wearing all black to Trump’s first State of the Union as a means to raise awareness for victims of sexual harassment. Of course, the move is a transparent slight at Trump, as leftists have been calling for his head due to the various accusations of sexual misconduct against him.
The all-black theme mimics what actresses kept with for the Golden Globes on Sunday when they were protesting on behalf of the same issue.
The proposition was put forward by the Democratic Women’s Working Group, which includes all of the Democratic women in the House, the group said on Tuesday.
“This is a culture change that is sweeping the country, and Congress is embracing it,” Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA) said in a statement. Speier also said that men and women from both sides of the aisle were invited to join them.
The move comes after nearly 60 Democratic female lawmakers demanded that Congress launch a probe into the accusations of sexual misconduct levied at Trump.
This “solidarity” movement would have a lot more credibility if it equally applied its “justice” to the accused. Of course, celebrities and Democratic beneficiaries were well aware of Weinstein’s behavior, yet no one said a peep because he was “one of them” and the relationships were mutually beneficial. The same goes for pervert Bill Clinton, who’s been given a pass for decades, regardless of the number of accusers that come forward.
It’d be a lot easier to take these people seriously is they hadn’t already exposed themselves as opportunists and partisan hacks. Of course, sexual harassment and abuse are bad, that’s common sense, but don’t expect everyone to jump in line with the “movement” when it was started by and contains such hypocrites.
