Attorney General Jeff Sessions made the decision to recuse himself from any and all investigations involving the Trump campaign. This comes after Sessions himself was accused of the same canoodling with the Russians for which the campaign is coming under fire.
Sessions made it very clear that his recusal was because his involvement in the campaign could appear to be a conflict of interest, not because of any wrongdoing involving Russians.
Here is Bill O’Reilly’s take and a portion of Sessions statement.
“Not one single Democrat in Congress called for then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch to recuse herself from the Hillary Clinton [email] investigation, after she met with Bill Clinton at a Phoenix airport,” O’Reilly said.
“Once again, their hypocrisy is on full display,” O’Reilly said, and criticized Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) for echoing Schumer’s sentiment.
Despite his removal from the case, the Democrats aren’t satisfied; they are calling for his resignation and removal. Let’s just skip right over the hypocrisy for a minute, I’m sure you can see that without me pointing it out.
It looks as if this Democrat-sponsored witch hunt is going to continue until every person installed by the President is someone that the other side is happy with/thinks they can manipulate. Not only is that more than a little dirty, it’s illegal.
That’s not how this works. T he approval (and putting up with) process has to do with weeding out the candidates who are in some way unqualified for the jobs. The idea that these backdoor tactics can be used to shape the key players in the new administration is a classic example of the kind of dirty dealing and backwater antics that define the Democratic party.
