Someone offered to give Homeland Security Secretary Gen. John Kelly an American flag pin to wear during his confirmation hearing.
Kelly declined.
“He looked at me and said, ‘Blain, I am an American flag,’” Blain Rethmeier recalled.
Kelly is a patriot. He served in the Marine Corps for over four decades. He doesn’t need to advertise his commitment to his country.
Liberals and conservatives alike praised the White House for choosing Kelly. He has an impeccable record. Trump administration officials have been resigning at an unusual rate because a lot of people couldn’t handle their jobs. Working under President Trump is a lot different than working under Obama.
The Daily Caller reports: “Since his confirmation hearing for secretary of homeland security, Gen. John Kelly has replaced Reince Priebus as President Donald Trump’s chief of staff. Kelly previously served in the United States Marine Corps for 45 years, most recently as the commander of the United States Southern Command.”
Kelly is one of the most popular members of the administration. His approval rating is higher than Trump’s. He’s right, it doesn’t matter if he wears an American flag label. His entire life is a testament to his patriotism.
