Ted Cruz, for as long as he played nice with Trump, was doing well in the polls. However, when the controversy with his Canadian birth certificate came out, all bets were effectively off.
Ted Cruz went on the offensive recently, making a backhanded remark about Donald Trump’s hometown, New York City.
Cruz warned Iowa voters that since Trump said he would embrace “New York values”, that Iowa voters should think about what that meant. Well, apparently, no thinking was required as Trump let Cruz know real quick about what exactly that meant.
From Business Insider,
When people want to knock New York — first of all you shouldn’t be doing it, because you have a massive population there — but when you want to knock New York, you’ve got to go through me. New York is an amazing place with amazing people.
We took a big hit with the World Trade Center — worst thing ever, worst attack ever in the United States, worse than Pearl Harbor because they attacked civilians. They attacked people having breakfast. And frankly if you would’ve been there, and if you would’ve lived through that like I did with New York people — the way they handled that attack was one of the most incredible things that anybody has ever seen.
This is why we love Donald Trump. He’s not afraid to let people know when they’re dead wrong, even if they are your political peers. I can’t wait to have him in the White House!
