While the nation is reeling from its worst mass shooting in history, there’s another scumbag running free. Infamous football player and double murderer, O.J. Simpson has been released after 9 years in prison, where he was serving time for an unrelated robbery.
As reported at the New York Post, under the cover of darkness Sunday, Simpson was escorted from the Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada, where he spent the last 9 years of his life.
Predictably, the media was privy to his release and made an effort to catch up with the criminal. At a travel stop around 5:30 in the morning, the former football star was approached by a camera, to which he stammered, “Man, how in the . . . Have y’all been, y’all stalking me?”
After asked about his freedom he said, “I’ve been in Nowhere USA for the last nine years doing nothing. Nothing has changed in my life. What do you expect?”
“I’m in a car for the last five hours, so how do I know how it feels to be out?” he added.
Simpson was released after midnight to “ensure public safety and reduce the potential for incident,” according to the Nevada Department of Corrections. No doubt that releasing such a reviled man in the middle of the day would have resulted in a media circus.
When asked about the murderer’s destination, prison officials couldn’t give an answer.
“I told him, ‘Don’t come back,’ and he responded, ‘I don’t intend to,’” said Department of Corrections spokeswoman Brooke Keast. “He was upbeat, personable and seemed happy to get on with his life.”
According to CNN, Simpson was headed towards a fancy Las Vegas suburb to stay with some friends for the time being. The report also claims that he plans to move to Florida to be closer to his two children, whose mother he murdered in 1994.
Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi said Simpson was not welcome in her state, although there’s nothing she can do to stop him.
“I’ve handled parole hearings my entire time as a prosecutor, and . . . I have never seen such lack of remorse in my entire career,” she told “Fox & Friends” Sunday. Well, what do you expect from a man that murdered two people, got away with it after a national circus of a trial, then wrote a book about how he would have gone about killing them if he “really” did it.
The man’s a cold-blooded killer, and a “not-guilty” verdict doesn’t change that. Hopefully the cretin will live out the rest of his days without harming anyone, as he’s already done irreparable damage to many lives.
