Betsy DeVos had seemingly no end of critics when she became the nominee for Secretary of Education. DeVos has been involved in politics in her home state of Michigan, but was not known to many of us until this nomination. DeVos was, however, instrumental behind the scenes, working on important issues.
She was Republican National Committeewoman for Michigan from 1992 to 1997 and served as chairwoman of the Michigan Republican Party from 1996 to 2000, with reelection to the post in 2003. She is a member of the board of the Foundation for Excellence in Education and has served as chairwoman of the board of Alliance for School Choice and Acton Institute and heads the All Children Matter PAC. Suddenly, though, the whole world had very strong opinions about her.
Unfortunately, her reputation fell prey to the liberal propaganda mill, and she was instantly hated by many who were sadly very un-educated about her actual policies. Hypeline’s Derek Muncy interviewed a handful of college students about their opinions on DeVos. Each had a very negative view of her.

During a “man on the street” segment, Hypeline’s Derek Muncy interviewed a handful of college students about their opinions on DeVos. Each of them had nothing but negative things to say about her.
“I think she’s grossly unqualified, and she doesn’t deserve the job she holds,” one student said.
“I wonder what Betsy DeVos is up to? Probably destroying the education system of America. I think that’s what’s going on.” said a student with pink hair.
“I don’t think she cares about public education for the majority of America,” said another student.
DeVos’s situation has some similarities to President Trump in that she is from a family of abundant wealth, and probably wouldn’t even be tempted by a bribe, even if her character were weak enough to bend a little. That has always been a sticking point for those needing to further the liberal agenda.
The second possible reason the liberal smear campaign went into high gear is her brother. Not only is Erik Prince a former Navy SEAL he’s also the founder of Blackwater USA. In case you’re unfamiliar with Blackwater, you may only know them by reputation; they are the private military contractors that the government calls when they need something done fast, and the red tape would take too long. They’re somewhat like a small military themselves.
I think the moral of this story is that the liberals better stop ticking our new Education Secretary off. She doesn’t need the money and she’s overqualified for the job, and if you make her cry her baby brother might come and take all of y’all to school.
