An active shooter forced New Hampshire’s largest hospital to shut down earlier today. The gun man remained on the loose for a terrifying two hours.
At 1.27pm Lebanon police officers received a call about a gunman spotted at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Authorities were immediately dispatched to the hospital. Local news outlets report that the suspect was captured at 3.27pm.
Luckily, no one was injured.

“Police are looking for a male, 6-feet-one-inch tall, with salt and pepper blonde hair, and wearing a red camouflage shirt… He is believed to be carrying a camouflage backpack as well, if you see this individual, call 911,” Dartmouth College posted to Twitter during the attack.
The hospital was forced to remain on lockdown after the suspect was apprehended. Police believe that the suspect acted alone, but false assumptions could have fatal consequences.
According to the Daily Mail: “Witnesses described a ‘massive police response’ to the incident, with dozens of heavily armed officers converging on the scene. As a precaution, business administrator for Lebanon’s public schools Tim Ball placed all five of its schools in the district on lockdown.”
It’s hard to feel safe anywhere these days. However, the Lebanon police did an awesome job neutralizing the situation.
