A conservative attorney dubbed a “legal superstar” by the Washington Post turned down a chance to work with the Trump administration. The president is desperately trying to prepare his legal team to battle Robert Mueller’s investigation.
On Tuesday, Theodore B. Olson, one of the top litigator’s in the country, rejected the chance to work on Trump’s defense.
“I can confirm that @gibsondunn and Theodore B. Olson will not be representing @realDonaldTrump,” Ted Boutrous, a partner at Olson’s firm, tweeted.
It’s a huge blow for Trump’s team. The Mueller investigation is still dragging on. Democrats won’t be satisfied until Trump is charged with something, anything.
“Why does the Mueller team have 13 hardened Democrats, some big Crooked Hillary supporters, and Zero Republicans? Another Dem recently added…does anyone think this is fair? And yet, there is NO COLLUSION!” President Trump ranted on Twitter.
The White House was able to snag Joe diGenova this week, a TV personality and former federal prosecutor that agrees with the president about Mueller. Both men have indicated that the investigation is more akin to a witch hunt than anything else.
“We are headed toward a very sad ending for the FBI and senior DOJ officials. … I believe that several high FBI officials will be charged criminally. And it is conceivable that some DOJ people will also be charged criminally. … I would consider this the largest law enforcement scandal in history for this reason,” diGenova said on Fox News.
A Lot of conservatives believe that the Russia investigation is being fueled by an anti-Trump bias at the nation’s top law enforcement agencies. Under this view, Democrats and FBI officials worked together to make up a ridiculous story about collusion in an attempt to discredit President Trump.
The Trump administration plans to fight every single allegation. Trump didn’t do anything wrong and he’s going to prove it.
