President Trump delivered a rousing speech in front of the World Economic Forum Friday, earning praise from CEOs and politicians across the globe.
The Democrats like to cast aspersions on Trump’s professionalism, but no one could reasonably argue that he didn’t present himself well today. He was strong, firm, and assured.
“I believe in America. As President of the United States, I will always put America First. Just like the leaders of other countries should put their countries first. But America First does not mean America alone,” Trump told a captive audience of billionaires and influential executives.
“There has never been a better time to hire, to build, to invest and to grow in the United States. America is open for business… The stock market is smashing one record after another.”
Trump isn’t an isolationist. He preaches a strong America-first agenda, but he also understands how the world works. “We are all stronger when free, sovereign nations cooperate toward shared goals and they cooperate toward shared dreams,” he told the audience.
The calm, muted man who spoke at the economic forum was only a shadow of the bombastic, expansive Donald Trump that Americans witnessed on the campaign trail. He purposefully tamped down his personality because he wanted people to focus on the content of his words rather than his delivery.
“Now is the perfect time to bring your business, your jobs and your investments to the United States,” thundered Trump.
“The world is witnessing the resurgence of a strong and prosperous America. There has never been a better time to hire, to build, to invest and to grow in the United States. AMERICA IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS AND WE ARE COMPETITIVE ONCE AGAIN.”
Hear, hear! President Trump makes me feel proud to be American. His entire persona is glossed with hearty, patriotic zeal.
