The North Korean menace has been threatening our Asian allies and the US mainland for decades. Despite the “best” efforts of Clinton, Obama, and Bush, the rogue regime has been able to develop a nuclear weapon and is now trying to perfect the ballistic missile technology to deliver one across the globe.
Unlike his predecessors, Trump has taken a hard line against the over-sized tyrant Kim Jong-Un, which has resulted in an increase in threats and weapons tests to deter the new president. However, Kim’s scare tactics haven’t had the effect he wanted, as Trump hasn’t backed off at all, instead, he’s continued America’s aggressive posture and openly mocked the dictator on social media.
As reported at the New York Post, on Tuesday, President Trump once again took to Twitter to deride the leader of North Korea, mockingly saying that his nuclear button is “bigger & more powerful” than Kim’s.
“North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un just stated that the ‘Nuclear Button is on his desk at all times,’” Trump tweeted two days after Kim made the threatening comment about the nukes.
“Will someone from his depleted and food starved regime please inform him that I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!” the president added.
During Kim’s annual address to his starving and brainwashed nation, he claimed that thanks to recent developments in their missile program, “the entire United States” is now within range of his nuclear weapons.
“A nuclear button is always on my desk. This is reality, not a threat,” Kim said.
While the regime certainly possesses a nuclear capability, delivering it effectively has been a problem. Many of their tests fail spectacularly, and it’s questionable how far their working ballistic missiles can reach.
While they certainly can hold our allies in Japan and South Korea hostage, the threats against the US homeland are hubris, given the evidence and our own missile defense system. Even so, any time Trump mocks the cream-puff dictator on Twitter it’s hilarious.
