President Trump’s war with the media just hit a new level. Liberal media pundits are fuming. During a Pennsylvania campaign rally for Senate candidate Rick Saccone, Trump tore into fake news-peddler, Chuck Todd.
“It’s 1999 I’m on Meet the Press, a show now headed by ‘Sleepy eyes Chuck Todd,” he said. “He’s a sleeping son of a b***h.”
Surprising words for the president to use, but Trump proved long ago that he doesn’t care about being politically correct. Todd’s a big boy, he can stick up for himself. In fact, he appeared to relish Trump’s comments.
“Don’t miss @MeetThePress tomorrow! I know folks may be tired in the morning due to springing forward, so set those clocks and DVRs now before your eyes get too sleepy,” Todd tweeted on Saturday night.
In addition to joking around, Todd also milked the incident for sympathy.
“I bring my kids up to respect the office of the presidency and the president,” Todd said. “I don’t allow them to say anything negative, ever, about the president… It creates a challenge to all parents when he uses vulgarities like that.”
Todd is a shill for MSNBC, he makes a living by bashing the president. “NBC is perhaps worse than CNN… And MSNBC is horrible!” Trump said during the Pennsylvania rally.
Trump used harsh language, but that’s who he is. He doesn’t sugarcoat anything.
“This isn’t difficult: It’s okay for Trump to publicly criticize @chucktodd. It’s not okay for The President of the United States to publicly call Chuck Todd a ‘son of a bitch.’ Come on,” former Rep. Joe Walsh tweeted.
Does it really matter? Trump’s choice of words certainly wasn’t polite, but he was talking to a hardened industry professional. The White House acknowledged long ago that Trump planned to defend himself from attacks.
