Sanctuary cities don’t belong in President Trump’s America. Immigration reform is one of the main goals of his administration. His efforts will be pointless if local governments don’t start respecting ICE and Border Patrol officials.
In order to combat sanctuary cities, the administration is mulling over pressing criminal charges.
“The Department of Justice is reviewing what avenues may be available,” Department of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen told the Senate Judiciary Committee Tuesday.
Liberals love sanctuary cities because they view them as part of their resistance. They still don’t like President Trump, and they want to do everything that they can to express their contempt.
“When we knock on doors, as any law enforcement officer will tell you, it’s risky, it’s dangerous. Compare that to arresting someone in the jail, when you know they don’t have weapons in the jail,” Thomas Homan, the acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, said.
“It’s a matter of time before one of my officers is seriously hurt or doesn’t go home because someone made a political decision on the backs of my officers.”
Liberals don’t care about what Homan or Trump thinks, however, because they’ve remained willfully blind to the dangers associated with illegal immigration. In their eyes, they’re heroes for establishing sanctuary cities.
“Shame on people that want to put politics ahead of officer safety, community safety… People who don’t think we should enforce immigration law — I wish they’d hang out with me for a week,” Homan told the Washington Times.
