The ongoing debate about sanctuary cities is kicking into high gear ever since it became clear that federal funding would actually be cut to those cities that defied the federal mandates. Makes sense, right? You don’t obey federal law, you don’t get federal funds. The liberals though are making it kind of a human rights issue. And by human rights, I mean that the illegal humans have more rights than the citizen humans.
Tucker Carlson got the chance to talk a little sense into Lansing Michigan mayor Virg Bernero about the cities new sanctuary policy. True to form, Carlson held his feet to the fire and made him work for his unreasoned use of airtime.

“Declaring non-discrimination” That seems a little obviously bull hockey since the illegals will receive different punishment than the legal residents. He says that they undocumented have a 44% lower instances of committing crimes than the documented. There are two major problems with that. The first is that they’re literally all criminals by virtue of being here and second is that maybe their crimes just aren’t being documented in this catch and release system.
It’s worth noting that Bernero does agree that some should be deported, just not that he’ll help with it. Somebody should deal with the problem, just not him. He won’t be reporting them and he won’t be riding his city of even those extreme cases where he does believe deportation is the right thing to do. Yes, there are “bad hombres” but no we won’t deport them for you.
It must be exhausting making sure that the middle class thinks you’re keeping them safe but the criminal knows you’ve got their back. For a liberal, it’s a slippery slope. You start agreeing that some criminals actually are bad and it’s a slippery slope into saying that all criminals are bad, and then you’re just alienating your fan base.
