Many mayors of major cities in America have been in for a rude awakening as Attorney General Jeff Sessions has made it clear that his threats to cut federal funding to sanctuary cities will be carried out. President Trump made the deportation of illegals one of the hinge pins of his run for Presidency, and he has made great strides to follow through on that promise.
Cities, such as Chicago, have made a bleeding heart plea to their citizens to side with their city’s illegal policies to harbor ICE fugitives. However, the rationally thinking among them aren’t swayed by this underhanded faux compassion being displayed. One such disgruntled resident is Chicago native Brunell Donald-Kyei. Kyei was the vice-chair of Diversity Outreach at the National Diversity Coalition for the Trump Campaign, and she had this to say:
Via Fox News Insider:
Last week, Emanuel questioned the legality of President Trump’s impending policy of withholding federal funds from designated sanctuary cities.”
Emanuel called the plan “a bit of a joke,” citing Trump’s trimming of the Justice Department budget and added that 34 other cities stand with him.
Chicago stands to lose $526 million in federal funding if Emanuel follows through on his plan to defy the federal order.

It’s been apparent for a long time that the politicians running many large cities are either totally out of touch with what their city actually needs or they just don’t care. As much as we’d hate to see it be the case, an outside observer might think that this was just a giant game of chess to these politicians. This is just a stepping stone to whatever their next political asperation is and most of the problems that the middle-class face will never be a problem for them. They’re just biding their time, trying to make sure they look good.
However, If money talks, then $526 million should scream and the leaders of these rogue cities may well have painted themselves into a corner having made such a firm stance against the deportation of illegals. At this point, they are going to have to have a stare down with the federal government OR explain to their citizens that they were actually wrong about how much they loved illegals. I think either direction it goes in will make for great TV.
Hold on to your hats folks, because it looks like the Trump administration is about to prove that you can fight city hall and win.
