California Republican Devin Nunes has recused himself from the House Intelligence Committee’s probe into Trump’s alleged collusion with Russia during the campaign. This was an unnecessarily gesture made by Republicans who are tired of being accused of scandal and misuse of power.

While I’m sure Nunes would have done a great job, if he’d stayed on the case, Republicans obviously saw an opportunity to give him a rest and put in some heavy hitters.According to Politico, Nunes will be replaced by Michael Conaway (R-Texas), Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) and Tom Rooney (R-Fla.), a dream team if ever I’ve seen one. Along with the straight shooting Tom Rooney of Flordia and the Representative of Texas oil field roughneck country, Michael Conway, someone had the presence of mind to put the aggressive truth seeker Trey Gowdy in charge. Gowdy will have no problems sorting out truth from fiction, and go to the mats if need be to get that truth to the American people.
Republicans need to be able to unequivocally put to rest this notion about a Russsian collusion with President Trump. The media has the entire nation whipped up into such a frenzy that they’re going to have to go above and beyond to prove to many confused Americans that there are liars on Capitol Hill, but it’s not the President and his cabinet. No one wants to believe that the corruption got this bad during the former administration, but the more that comes out about this scandal as well as others, shows us that there is indeed a Russian connection to US government, and it’s not President Trump.
It’s extremely unfortunate that Nunes has been put on the chopping block by liberals who are desperate for a whipping boy, but if he did have to be replaced, it’s good to know that there are those willing to step up and get the job done.
