Less than 24 hours after her much-hyped interview with 60 Minutes, Stormy Daniels filed a lawsuit against President Trump’s personal lawyer. Here’s the kicker- she’s suing for defamation. The former porn star claims he smeared her when he set up the hush money deal.
In 2016 Daniels happily accepted $130,000 to keep her mouth shut about her alleged affair with Trump. Now she’s claiming she was insulted by the deal. She also accuses Cohen of breaking campaign finance law.
“(The) Hush Agreement was entered with the illegal aim, design, and purpose of circumventing federal campaign finance law,” the complaint reads.
The White House denies all of Daniels’ allegations. President Trump has been uncharacteristically quiet about the affair. His mouthpieces, however, have spoken up about Daniels.
“The President doesn’t believe that any of the claims Ms. Daniels made in the interview are accurate,” spokesman Raj Shah said.
Daniels’ claims have been all over the place. She originally sold her story about the affair years ago. After the story was squashed she tried to shop it around a few more times until she signed the fateful nondisclosure deal.
She hasn’t remained consistent, however. She vehemently denied the affair as recently as January.
“I recently became aware that certain news outlets are alleging that I had a sexual and/or romantic affair with Donald Trump many, many, many years ago,” read a statement signed by Daniels at the time.
“I am stating with complete clarity that this is absolutely false. My involvement with Donald Trump was limited to a few public appearances and nothing more. When I met Donald Trump, he was gracious, professional and a complete gentleman to me and EVERYONE in my presence.”
Daniels isn’t exactly a credible source. She has proof that she met Donald Trump 12 years ago but everything else is hearsay.
