Mainstream media hacks tried to trip up White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders Thursday during the press briefing.
“I know we’ve asked this a few times, but …” a reporter began.
“That’s okay, that’s kind of what we do here, ask the same question over and over and over again,” Sanders fired back.
The press briefings have become a bit of a joke. Reporters aren’t looking for real answers, they’re looking for soundbites that they use to trash the president. During the same press conference, Sanders also had to defend President Trump’s choice to call MS-13 gang members “animals.”
A lot of liberals apparently believe that Trump’s words were “mean.” Sanders addressed that as well.
“If the media and liberals want to defend MS-13 they’re more than welcome to,” she said.
“Frankly, I don’t think the term that the president used was strong enough. MS-13 has done heinous acts. It took an animal to stab a man 100 times and decapitate him and rip his heart out. It took an animal to beat a woman they were sex trafficking with a bat, 28 times, indenting part of her body. And it took an animal to kidnap and rape a 13-year-old Houston girl.”
She shamed the reporters so badly that some outlets actually apologized the next day. The AP issued a retraction stating: “AP has deleted a tweet from late Wednesday on Trump’s “animals” comment about immigrants because it wasn’t made clear that he was speaking after a comment about gang members.”
It’s rare for the hacks to admit error, but Sanders left them no choice. Defending MS-13 was just too ugly to let go.
Sanders is a master at her job. She doesn’t allow herself to become riled up the way her predecessor, Sean Spicer, did.
