Friday’s bombshell news regarding Gen. Mike Flynn had hardly been processed by the media when Rush Limbaugh issued a searing statement.Liberals are squealing as though they’ve been vindicated, but according to Limbaugh, Flynn’s guilty plea actually proves President Trump’s innocence.
“If this were part of the basis for a collusion case arising out of Russia’s election meddling, then Michael Flynn would not be pleading guilty to a process crime today. He would be pleading to an espionage conspiracy,” Limbaugh posted on Facebook.
“We are right where we all knew the Mueller investigation was going. Back on June 8th, I told everybody there’s not any evidence of collusion with the Russians. We’re headed towards a process crime, which is exactly what happened with Michael Flynn. We’ve all known this day was coming.”
Limbaugh is right; no one is surprised by Flynn’s guilt. He was forced out of the White House in less than a month. His misdeeds, however, don’t prove what the Democrats hope they do. The Mueller investigation has been churning along for months, and absolutely no evidence of collusion has been found.
Flynn is the only person responsible for his crimes.
“I recognize that the actions I acknowledged in court today were wrong, and, through my faith in God, I am working to set things right,” Flynn said Friday.
“My guilty plea and agreement to cooperate with the special counsel’s office reflect a decision I made in the best interests of my family and of our country. I accept full responsibility for my actions.”
