While Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore’s campaign has been in dire straits ever since he was accused of sexual misconduct for something that occurred decades ago, the people of his state are still loathe to let a Democrat take the highly coveted Senate seat.
While polls show him slipping and now trailing the Democratic candidate, he’s by no means out of the race. Despite the deluge of media propaganda and complete abandonment by the Republican Party, Moore still a significant support.
Which means that the lessons of this election, win or lose, is that conservatives are not only finally fighting to keep the reigns of power in Congress, but also sick and tired of the Left trying to slander their political opponents without any concrete proof. All one needs to do is look at Moore’s donations since he became the media’s public enemy number one to understand that conservatives aren’t letting the media dictate who they support.
As reported at the Daily Mail, since allegations against him surfaced, Moore’s campaign has been inundated with donations from his supporters. While polling indicates he’s now behind in the race, things on the financial end are going just fine.
It seems conservatives in Alabama see the danger of losing what should have been an easy seat to keep, and also don’t want this sexual allegation carousel to become the norm. That being that anyone can throw out accusations against another person years after the supposed incident without a shred of proof and at the very least significantly damage the accused person’s reputation.
In the span of 3 days, Moore’s campaign has been flooded with half a million dollars in support.
“Donations have been pouring in from Alabama and from all over the country in an unprecedented way,” Moore campaign manager Brett Doster told The New York Post on Saturday
“We are confident that we will have the resources over the next three weeks to finish strong with victory,” he said. The money is highly important as we head into the final stretch of the campaign. With the Republican National Committee abandoning him, and other donors not daring to enter his orbit, the good citizens of Alabama have stepped up to the plate.
As is stands, Moore is 5 points back, but anything can happen at this point. It’ll be up to the voters on election day to decide how to respond to the accusations against Moore.
